Lake Geneva Golf Course Review
Lake Lawn's championship golf course first opened in 1921 and is one of the Midwest's premier golf
destinations. Set amid 275 lush, tree-lined acres, the course was masterfully re-engineered in 1990 by
renowned architect Dick Nugent, and is best known for its stately oaks, deep sand bunkers and subtle
undulations. Each hole is set with multiple tee boxes for players of all abilities.
The clubhouse features a pro shop, snack bar with breakfast and lunch items available, and dinning space for
up to 200 people that can be used for outings and banquets. Practice facilities include a targeted grass driving
range, a large putting green, and a short game area for chipping and sand play. A variety of lessons from a friendly staff of golf professionals are available.
There are 3 sets of tees that play to distances and slopes that measure 6201 yards/124 slope, 5849 yards/120
slope for men and 126 for women, and 5054 yards with a slope of 112 for men and 116 ladies hitting from the
front tee areas. There are 54 strategically placed sand bunkers and water comes into play on only two holes.
Although water does not play a huge role strategically, there are some beautiful views of Lake Delevan particularly on the front nine.
Landing zones are on fairly level ground with mounding off to the sides of the fairways so an accurate driver will
be rewarded by an even lie. Some greens are guarded well by bunkering and long grass mounds, and others
are open to bump and run approach shots. The putting surfaces often the topic of conversation after the round
because of their undulation and many tiers.
Pro Link GPS is standard on all carts and provides accurate yardage to the pin from anywhere on the course.
Cart paths are marked with measurements to the center of the green, and pin placements are rotated daily. For
