Chicago Golf Course Review
General information
All photos in this review are of the Arnold Palmer Signature course
Geneva National Golf Club - just 4 miles west of Lake Geneva and an easy drive from Chicago or Milwaukee, features 54 holes of championship golf with designs from the
games masters - Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and Gary Player. The property is carved out of the rolling Wisconsin countryside and features well manicured bent grass tees,
fairways and greens, with five sets of tee boxes on each course.
The amenities here include great membership and lifestyle opportunities including a well balanced calendar of events complimented by exclusive use of a wellness center,
private locker rooms and restaurants along with high quality service. The 60,000 square foot clubhouse features a Grand Ballroom that can accommodate 300 guests, with
capabilities to be divided into smaller rooms for meetings and conferences. An elegant board room is also available.
Facilities in the clubhouse include a well stocked pro shop, the Hunt Club Restaurant & Legends Tavern (with great views of the Player Course). The Grill Room is open for
breakfast, lunch and dinner - and Geneva National can host up to 600 people for golf outings. Practice facilities include putting/chipping greens and a targeted grass range. The
Par For Life Institute offers programs designed to accelerate the progress and add to the longevity of one's golf game, with a variety of lessons from a staff of golf professionals
available. Each course is well marked with sprinkler heads measured to the center of the green, 100, 150 and 200 yard plates in the fairways, and 150 yard posts in the fairways
on all par fours and fives. Pin placement sheets indicate the day's hole locations.
Arnold Palmer Course
The Palmer Signature winds through wooded lots of Geneva National with elevated tees and tree lined fairways providing aesthetic beauty and challenge. There are 5 sets of tees
that play to distances and slopes that measure 7171 yards/141 slope, 6638 yards/134 slope, 6057 yards/128 slope, 5372 yards/127 slope for women and 4904 yards with a
slope of 122 for ladies hitting from the front tee areas. There are 58 strategically placed sand bunkers and water hazards come into play on 8 holes.
Golfers will find frequent uneven lies along the hilly, sloping terrain which features a relatively open front nine with a more heavily wooded backside. Land in regulation and good
scores can be had as the medium size green complexes are only mildly sloping. For more info, visit our page for the course with direct link at their website by clicking here.
