General information
Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park (south of Chicago) is a 45-hole championship golf facility featuring two distinctive 18-hole designs plus Rolling Hills - a nine-hole
executive course. Located just 45 minutes from downtown, this 300 acre property is known for its superb teaching facilities, which are recognized as the best in the region.
These facilities include a spacious targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker, plus putting and chipping greens. There also is an 18-passenger mobile classroom
that offers video swing analysis and playback! Private and group lessons plus playing lessons are available through a staff of certified PGA certified instructors. From November
through March, the Indoor Lesson Center offers various programs using the latest in video analysis and technology.
I
n 2007 the rates for the championship courses top out at $51.50 weekdays and $57.50 weekends including carts, making this one of the areas better golf values. The executive
layout was priced at under $2 yards25 prime time. Yardage markers are posted on the course at 100, 150 and 200 yards on all par fours and fives, and color coded flags indicate
nthe day's front, middle or back hole locations.
NORTH COURSE
The North course at Silver Lake is the longer of the two championship designs. Four sets of tee areas play to distances and slopes measuring 6826 yards/122 slope, 6457
yards/118 slope, 5962 yards/113 slope and 5665 yards with a slope of 118 for ladies hitting from the forward tees. Even from the back tees, this course is very playable.
There are 41 sand bunkers in play near the landing zones off the tee or greenside, and water hazards are featured on 4 holes. For more info, visit our page for the course, with
